SCIENCE! + Falling in Love: Meet Granby Jr. and Misaki
If you haven't been able to catch I Sing the Rising Sea yet, you've not met Granby Jr. and Misaki, our singing scientists based in Antarctica. Living in the not-so-distant future of 2047, where embedded data chips are the norm for remote-region explorers, our plucky scientists are searching for a way to stem the rising seas that are threatening coastlines world-wide.
Granby Jr.'s focus is astrobiology, specifically organisms surviving in Antarctica's Dry Valleys. Friendly and a tad snarky, he leaves his family home in Ocean View, Norfolk, Virginia, to spend six months of the year in the valleys conducting research.
Misaki is a climatologist with a specialty of drilling into the vast ice sheets of Antarctica. Even with her prickly personality, she is endearingly optimistic, with lofty goals and a newly-designed ice drill.
You don't want to miss this surprisingly adorable couple as they SCIENCE!, discover century-old secrets in their family histories, and fall in love. Who wouldn't enjoy watching science geeks flirt through song?
I Sing the Rising Sea ends October 9, so grab your tickets today!
