The Halls Celebrate Family at the Wells
‶Our family is an odd number of five, including my parents (married for over 37 years!), my older brother Kyle, myself, and my younger sister Chelsea. My siblings and I have now reached adulthood, and as the years have gone by it seems it has become ever more difficult to plan time together during the holidays. We may get a couple days of occasional sightings, but with busy school and work schedules, it is sometimes never more than a few hours of quality time.
One plan that has remained constant with us every holiday season is to find a couple performances going on through VA Stage that fit our schedules and to make it work for us to see them together. We love seeing A Christmas Carol every year, and we like to fit in some other shows either before or after, as well. We've already seen Oliver Twist and loved it!
Seeing a show at the Wells as a family gives us a set "appointment" that we can look forward to and that can gladly interrupt our whirlwind lives. It allows us to have an evening or afternoon together (usually with a delicious meal in downtown Norfolk before the show) to pause and enjoy each other's company while also feeding our love of theater. It is one of the constants in our lives that we can count on in the years to come.
Thank you for sharing your performances with us, and I can't wait to see the other shows VA Stage has planned!″
