BRUCE WARREN

(Director) is tickled pink to return to Virginia Stage Company for his 4th season. Audiences may recognize Bruce from his performances at VSC: including The Ghost of Christmas Present in A Christmas Carol (2016 & 2017), Mr. Bumble in Patrick Mullins’Oliver Twist, and as the legendary Dr. Watson in The Hound of Baskervilles. As a professional theatre maker for over 20 years, his work has been enjoyed on stages across North America: York Theatre Company, The Alley Theatre, Riverside Theatre, Arkansas Rep, Theatre Squared, Florida Rep, Florida Studio Theatre, Hangar Theatre, Kitchen Theatre, Ocean State Theatre, Mile Square Theatre, Theatre By the Sea, Merry-Go-Round Playhouse / Fingerlakes Musical Theatre Festival, and many many more. He was last seen Off-Broadway in the world premiere of I Spy a Spy, originating the role of Russia’s greatest spy, Cold Borscht. Other Off-Broadway credits include The Road to Qatar (*Original Cast Album). Bruce Choreographed and Assistant Directed We Tell the Story: Songs of Ahrens & Flaherty at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. DAVID L. ARSENAULT §

(Scenic Designer) is making his VSC debut with this production. As a designer and associate, David’s work has been seen on Broadway, Off-Broadway, regionally, and internationally. Recent designs in NYC include: #DateMe: An OKCupid Experiment, and A Letter to Harvey Milk. Regional design credits include productions at Ogunquit Playhouse, Weston Playhouse, Dorset Theatre Festival, George Street Playhouse, Bay Street Theatre, Berkshire Theatre Festival, Kitchen Theatre Company, Geva Theatre, Hangar Theatre, Northern Stage, Gulfshore Playhouse, and Bucks County Playhouse, among many others. Internationally, he has worked at English Theatre Berlin in Germany. Broadway Associate work includes: Hillary and Clinton, The Color Purple (Tony-winning revival, also London and National Tours), and King Charles III. Member: USA 829.

BRYCE TURGEON

(Costume Designer) is thrilled to be making his VSC debut designing a show that is so near and dear to his heart. Based in New York City, he is the creator of Florence d'Lee, a fashion brand specializing in clothing for a vast array of nightlife performers. Many of Bryce's clients can be seen gracing the runway of the hit reality tv series Rupaul's Drag Race and RuPaul's Drag Race Allstars. His work has been featured in Vogue, Vogue Germany, Paper Magazine and he has had his pieces worn on a number of red carpets, including this year's Met Gala. Thanks to Bruce for pulling me into this project, and reinvigorating my love of theatre. As well as my Partner Evan, for putting up with my long hours, and rhinestoning every gown I make.

(NY Casting) Binder Casting, now part of RWS Entertainment Group, was founded by Jay Binder, CSA in 1984. Binder Casting has cast over 80 Broadway productions, dozens of National Tours, off-Broadway shows, full seasons for over 25 regional theatres, as well as feature films, episodic television and commercials. BRITTANY SANDFORD

(Stage Manager): is so excited to be debuting as a Production Stage Manager after spending the last five years acting as an Assistant Stage Manager, Wardrobe Supervisor, and Production Assistant at Virginia Stage Company. TOM QUAINTANCE

(Producing Artistic Director) is the sixth Artistic Director and the first Producing Artistic Director in Virginia Stage Company’s 40 year history. At the Wells, Tom has directed Pride and Prejudice and The Santaland Diaries, and Matilda The Musical. Previously as Artistic Director of Cape Fear Regional Theatre (CFRT), Tom produced over 35 plays and directed the World Premiere of Downrange: Voices from the Homefront, a play based on interviews with military spouses from Fort Bragg. Tom is an Associate Artist at PlayMakers Repertory Company in Chapel Hill where he directed An Enemy of the People, Shipwrecked! An Entertainment, The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby, and The Little Prince. He also directed The Little Prince at the 2007 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. As the founder of FreightTrain Shakespeare in Los Angeles, he earned a Drama-Logue Award for his direction of Pericles. Other Los Angeles credits range from King Lear to The Devil With Boobs. A member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, Tom is a graduate of Wesleyan University (Middletown, CT) with a B.A. in Theatre and Economics, and the University of California, San Diego MFA directing program, where he was the assistant director on the original production of The Who’s Tommy. Tom and his wife Wallis are the proud parents of Mireille Julia and Annika Christine.

DAVID B. BYRD

(Managing Director) Virginia Stage’s 40th Anniversary Season marks David’s second full season as Managing Director. Prior to landing in Norfolk, David served as Managing Director at Clarence Brown Theatre in Knoxville, TN. He has also held leadership positions at Westport Country Playhouse, American Dance Festival, Triad Stage, Yale Repertory Theater, the Dwight/Edgewood Project, and the Guthrie Theater. David received an MFA degree in Theater Management from Yale School of Drama and a BA degree in Drama from UNC-Greensboro in his native North Carolina. During his tenure at the Clarence Brown Theatre, David was appointed to the Chancellor’s Commission for LGBT People and the College of Arts & Sciences’ Diversity Committee. Additionally, David served on the McClung Museum Academic Programs Advisory Board and the Great Schools Partnership Advisory Council. David has been a grants panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts, Tennessee Arts Commission, and United Way of Greater Knoxville. He has served on the union negotiating team and annual meeting planning committees for the League of Resident Theatres (LORT). David was a 2016 Knoxville Business Journal 40 Under Forty Honoree and has recently guest lectured at Virginia Wesleyan University and Christopher Newport University.

PATRICK MULLINS

(Producer) is the Director of Public Works at Virginia Stage Company. Patrick's personal adaptation and directorial work explores where classical texts intersect with current community issues. Recent projects include: The Tempest, The Dream Clinic; The Wiz; Oliver Twist; The Taming of the Shrew, a synth-pop fantasia mixing Shakespeare's text and the music of Jacki Paolella; Swingtime Salute on the deck of the USS Wisconsin; Miss Kitty's House of Cosmic Love, an immersive experience at the Hermitage Museum and Gardens; Honky Tonk Angels, The Odd Couple, Romeo and Juliet, and many others at the Wells Theatre. For four years he has worked with FestEvents in producing The Midsummer Fantasy Festival - an immersive Shakespearean festival/visual art installation/performance event in Towne Point Park. In addition to work at Virginia Stage Company, he has recently directed shows at Capital Repertory Theatre in Albany, NY and Ensemble Theatre Company in Santa Barbara, CA. Productions he has created for touring and young people include a video heavy Romeo and Juliet that integrated high school students with professional actors, an R&B fueled tour of Julius Caesar and a reworking on A Christmas Carol that celebrated the music and instruments of Dickens' period. A veteran high school teacher of seven years, Patrick holds an MFA from the University of South Carolina and is an adjunct professor at Old Dominion University. In 2010 he was recognized by the Hampton Roads Cultural Alliance with the Bettie Minette Cooper Arts Educator Award.
