In preparation for our production of The Earth Remembers, an original musical that sings the history of Hampton Roads, on Saturday, May 22 and Sunday, May 23 volunteers from the community gathered to build the puppets that will be featured in the production. These massive puppets were fabricated and painted by our community members under the direction of Donovan Zimmerman of Paperhand Puppet Intervention. Together with Donovan and Patrick Mullins, a small, but mighty group of volunteers paper machéd giant tobacco leaves, planets and more! Here are some pictures of our process.
